The Universidad de La Frontera, which carries out its work in the La Araucanía region, is one of the most promising Chilean higher education institutions. Its indicators in recent years have positioned it among the top ten in the country and the 100 leaders in Latin America.

It is a derivative public and state higher education institution, which has achieved accreditation in all areas of its work. The University leads the offer of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the Region of La Araucanía, also in the generation of knowledge, and boasts outstanding scientific productivity. In its classrooms, more than 8,000 future professionals are trained, spread over six faculties, 43 careers and a modern infrastructure of 105 thousand square meters built.

Its main management axes are related to ensuring the quality and relevance of its undergraduate and postgraduate programs, strengthening its research, innovation and technology transfer activities, strengthening ties with the environment, promoting internationalization, the sustainability of the institution and maintaining the harmony of university coexistence. It was born as an autonomous institution on March 10, 1981, after the merger of the headquarters of the University of Chile and the Technical University of the State, with the mission of contributing to the development of its immediate environment and of Chile, through the generation and transmission of knowledge, the training of professionals and postgraduates, the cultivation of the arts and culture, maintaining its commitment to quality and innovation, with respect for people, nature, cultural diversity and with the construction of a more society fair and democratic.
