University of Magallanes

In 2020 it will be 500 years since the Portuguese navigator Fernando de Magallanes first arrived in the Strait that joins the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Five centuries for a feat carried out in an unparalleled point on the planet.

Two world biosphere reserves account for its rich biodiversity, and dozens of colonizing nationalities, of its cultural capital.
