goals

This program aims to:
1. To train highly qualified doctors and doctors in the development of science, with analytical and reflective capacity to solve problems, work as a team and autonomously direct relevant research in the areas of agricultural production and the sustainability of productive systems, committed to the values of the institutional work.

2. Develop lines of research that impact on regional and global development, to face challenges related to the field of food production of terrestrial or aquatic origin in a framework of sustainability, based on the characteristics that configure the specificity of the territory where they will be developed as postgraduates.

Applicant Profile

Applicants must have the academic degree of Bachelor or Master in areas of Agricultural Sciences (Veterinary Sciences, Agronomic Sciences, Aquaculture Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences, Marine Sciences) and / or equivalent.

Graduate profile

The graduation profile includes the development and evidence of the following competencies or performances:
1. Designs and implements through advanced studies a systematic research process in the areas of agricultural production and the sustainability of production systems, favoring the improvement of primary food production in its various phases.
2. Develops creative and autonomous research, in scientific and disciplinary collaboration environments, in the areas of agricultural production and sustainability of production systems, from a socially and ethically responsible perspective.
3. Critically analyzes the various disciplinary and technological approaches for the scientific development of agricultural sciences, in the primary production of food from both the terrestrial and aquatic environment.
4. Effectively communicates the knowledge generated in the development of its research, for its contribution to scientific advancement in agricultural sciences and to the solution of efficiency problems in food production.

Lines of investigation

The Doctorate in Agricultural Sciences addresses food production of terrestrial or aquatic origin, within a framework of sustainability through the interaction of its three research areas:
1. Animal production.
2. Plant Production.
3. Sustainability of production systems.
