goals

The academic Program of Doctorate in Public Health aims to:
To train graduates with extensive knowledge in Public Health matters and with the ability to independently carry out original research, the results of which represent significant contributions to the knowledge of population health problems, as well as the ways in which society is organized to solve these.
In accordance with the above, the Doctorate in Public Health intends that those who graduate from said academic program, be graduates with the highest level for the development of frontier research in Public Health, generation of evidence and analysis of public policies in health, in the academic and decision-making spheres and the health institutions of Chile and other countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Applicant Profile

Requirements:
1.- Master's Degree * (Master's Degree) or minimum of Bachelor's Degree.
In the event that the applicant is a student of a Master's program, a letter from the director of the respective Program must be attached stating that the applicant will conclude the program before the start of the Doctorate.
2.- Accredited command of English at an intermediate or higher level.
3.- Minimum dedication to the Program: 33 hours per week.
4.- In the case of foreign language applicants, demonstrate an adequate oral and written command of the Spanish language.

Graduate profile

The Doctor of Public Health will be able to:
1 .. Analyze the epistemological, ethical and social dimensions of Public Health.
2.- Formulate and document relevant questions to Public Health from a broad perspective and also with specificity to their area.
3.- Select and apply suitable models and methods to study Public Health problems and propose solutions.
4.- To exercise leadership in the study, proposing solutions and their execution in the field of Public Health.
5.- Analyze and scientifically interpret their findings and disseminate them, satisfying scientific communication standards.
6.- Stay updated in your area of competence.
