To train researchers with specialized knowledge in Psychology, from a broad and plural perspective in dialogue with other disciplines

Applicant Profile

Those with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology may apply for the Doctorate in Psychology program. In addition, exceptionally, other graduates with a bachelor's, master's or doctor's degree from the area of humanities, social sciences, education or health may apply. It will be a requirement to accredit own training according to the purposes and requirements of the program, according to what the Academic Committee establishes. Along with the application, an initial proposal for a research project or pre Thesis Project must be presented, which defines the field in which the thesis will be developed. This must be prepared in relation to the lines of research developed by the Program.
The applicant must prove sufficient knowledge of the English language. Whoever does not have a certificate of mastery of said language must take a diagnostic test. If you do not pass it, you must take the English subjects offered by the University of Chile.

Graduate profile

The doctors in Psychology from the University of Chile will be able to:

1.- Give an account, from plural theoretical and methodological perspectives, of specialized and updated knowledge within any of the areas of Psychology developed in the Program.
2.- Autonomously develop original and relevant research in Psychology, using qualitative and / or quantitative methodological approaches that ensure rigor and a significant contribution to both the discipline and society.
3.- Communicate to the academic community and society the knowledge produced through their research.
4.- Hold dialogues with other fields of knowledge from their field of specialization in Psychology
