goals

To train, at a level of excellence, researchers capable of autonomously reflecting on different literary problems raised by Chilean and Latin American cultural heterogeneities, in dialogue with local and international knowledge produced in the field of literary studies.

Applicant Profile

The Doctorate in Literature is aimed mainly at:

1. Masters and graduates in literature and other related careers in the field of humanities (history, sociology, philosophy, arts);
2. Spanish teachers with participation in research projects;
3. Literary critics;
4. Professionals who work in the literary and cultural field.

Graduate profile

The profile of the graduate of the Doctorate in Literature is mainly characterized by mastery of the strategies that allow defining, defining and analyzing a corpus linked to a literary problem that addresses the complexities of Chilean and Latin American heterogeneities, in dialogue with the artistic tradition and attending to the literary and cultural theories of the 20th and 21st centuries.

In consideration of this, the Doctor of Literature will be able to:

Investigate and lead disciplinary and interdisciplinary research, with a view to making visible, rearticulating and / or questioning cultural problems related to cultural, gender, ethnic, popular and elite subjectivities, thereby generating an observable social impact in articles, books and seminars .
Teaching in higher education, showing an advanced level of breadth and depth in the literary discipline, which provokes a reflection on contemporary events in its students.
Actively participate in the design of public and private policies in the field of literature and culture, promoting an exercise that equitably benefits the entire community.
