The objective of the Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences is to contribute in an original and significant way to scientific-technological research in the development of formulations of bioactive compounds, with the potential to obtain quality, safe and effective drugs. For this, this Program trains scientists of a high level of excellence, trained to carry out original research, independently and innovatively, aimed at solving problems related to obtaining compounds of natural and / or synthetic origin; with the design, formulation and preparation of new dosage forms and / or with the preclinical evaluation of these new compounds and formulations.

Applicant Profile

To apply for the Doctorate program in Pharmaceutical Sciences, the applicant must have a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, or a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences granted by the University of Chile or another national university recognized by the State or foreigners that ensure training equivalent and satisfactory for the purposes and requirements of the Program. In addition, Graduates, candidates with higher academic degrees who meet the requirements of a bachelor's degree, according to regulations of the University of Chile, in Biological, Chemical and Medical Sciences may apply.

Graduate profile

The graduate of the Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences will be a researcher capable of developing innovative and creative formulations of bioactive compounds and evaluating their efficacy and safety, contributing to the development of potential drugs.

2.- Obtaining and pharmaceutical analysis of bioactive compounds and their formulations
3.- Preclinical tests for evaluation of bioactive compounds and pharmaceutical formulations
