The PhD in Engineering Sciences mention Bioprocesses of the University of La Frontera has
as an objective to train researchers with the ability to propose and carry out independently,
collaborative and with ethical protection, original and relevant research in some of the areas of
research in environmental and food bioprocesses, the results of which represent a contribution to the
knowledge
Applicant Profile
Possess the degree of Bachelor or Master of Science in areas compatible with those of the Program (Food Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering or other similar), or possess a professional degree with equivalent studies .
Graduate profile
The graduate of the Doctorate Program in Engineering Sciences with a mention in Bioprocesses will have a comprehensive vision and a solid background in the area of engineering sciences, with an emphasis on environmental or food bioprocesses. They will be able to develop original research that generates frontier knowledge in some of the research areas declared in the Program, propose innovative solutions in the area of environmental or food bioprocesses, and effectively communicate research results in scientific media. They will be able to work with others, with autonomy, responsibility and under ethical criteria. He may work in research and development units, both public and private, as well as in higher education centers.
