goals

he objective of the Doctoral Program in Engineering Sciences, Electrical Engineering area, is to train researchers with a solid scientific-technological orientation, capable of conducting research in an original and independent way on the frontier of knowledge, in order to contribute to scientific development -technology of the country. This contribution will be materialized through the generation of knowledge and the creation, development and realization of devices, systems and processes in areas such as Information Systems, Energy, Automation, Instrumentation and Robotics, in a sustainable way and taking into account ethical and social factors. , environmental and economic.

Applicant Profile

Be in possession of the academic degree of bachelor and / or master's degree granted by Chilean universities.
In case of having foreign academic degrees, these must be equivalent to the previous ones
mentioned. Also have knowledge of the English language, sufficient to understand it in written form, which allows them to read articles, books and access international documents and databases in
effective way.

Graduate profile

The granting of the academic degree of Doctor of Engineering Sciences requires demonstrating mastery of the study area and the ability to carry out research independently, making an original contribution to knowledge in said area.

During their doctoral training, students will acquire skills to face scientific and technological problems in a creative and efficient way and that, due to their diverse nature, require complementing solid theoretical and conceptual bases, with the application of relevant analysis methodologies and techniques in any of the 3 research lines of the Program.

Lines of investigation

Information systems
It focuses on the development and application of mathematical models, techniques, and algorithms for information processing.

Energy
It focuses on the development of mathematical models, control strategies, computational tools, and devices for the use of electrical energy.

Automation, Instrumentation and Robotics:
It focuses on the development and application of advanced control strategies, and the design of sensors and actuators, to improve the performance of production processes and measurement systems.
