General objective:
THE OBJECTIVE OF THE DOCTORATE PROGRAM IN ENGINEERING SCIENCES WITH A MAJOR IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING HAS THE OBJECTIVE TO BUILD ADVANCED HUMAN CAPITAL WITH COMPETENCES TO DEVELOP BORDER RESEARCH, IN AN AUTONOMOUS FORM OR BY INTEGRATING MULTIDISCUSSION OF COMPETENCING TEAMS, ANALYSIS OF COMPETENCES, ANALYSIS OF COMPETENCES ELECTRICAL AND ITS IMPACT AREAS.
Specific objectives:
- PROMOTE THE CREATION OF NEW KNOWLEDGE IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING AND ITS AREAS OF IMPACT, BASED ON DEEP KNOWLEDGE OF DISCIPLINE.
- PROMOTE, THROUGH THE TRAINING PROCESS, THE WORK OF AUTONOMOUS AND MULTIDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH.
- DEVELOP COMPETENCES TO FORMULATE RESEARCH PROPOSALS ORIENTED TO THE RESOLUTION OF COMPLEX PROBLEMS IN THE FIELD OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING, WITH A SCIENTIFIC APPROACH.
- DEVELOP COMPETENCES TO COMMUNICATE RESULTS OF RESEARCH AT NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LEVEL.
Applicant Profile
The applicant must have a solid knowledge of basic sciences and engineering sciences, preferably in the area of Electrical Engineering and the like. Must possess an interest in the application of science and the maturity necessary to conduct program research. They must have the capacity for self-learning, communication and the willingness to join interdisciplinary work groups. You must have a sufficient command of the English language to acquire knowledge in the discipline from written material.
Graduate profile
The graduate of the Doctoral Program in Forest Sciences of the University of Concepción will be prepared to design and develop relevant and frontier research, either autonomously or collaboratively, oriented to the diagnosis, analysis and resolution of complex problems in the field of forest sciences , based on a solid theoretical knowledge and methodologies, which allows him to contribute to the disciplinary knowledge in his area of specialization, safeguarding the sustainable use of forest resources in a scenario of global change.
Specifically, and according to the emphasis of the selected line of research, it will be prepared to contribute to the improvement and understanding of the effects of silvicultural practices in natural forests and plantations, the management and management of forest resources, to improve the quality of wood and the development of new forest products, incorporate biotechnological tools for forest management or product development, identify and propose solutions to the challenges related to the conservation of natural resources, ensuring the provision of ecosystem services that forests provide to the communities.
