goals

The objective of the Program is to train scientists capable of responding to the demand for scientific research and innovation in areas that together support agriculture, the interrelationships of man and his environment, and contribute significantly to achieving human well-being in general.

Applicant Profile

Be in possession of the degrees of bachelor and / or magister.
Comprehension of the English language, sufficient to understand it in written form, at a level that allows them to read articles, books and access international documents and databases. Present grades from previous university studies.

Graduate profile

Graduates of the Doctoral Program in Agricultural Sciences are distinguished by their advanced skills and knowledge to contribute to generating new knowledge applicable to agriculture and the natural resources that sustain agricultural and forestry activity both in Chile and in the world.

In specific terms, our graduates are distinguished by:

Possess the necessary skills and abilities to independently carry out research in the field of agricultural sciences and / or the natural resources that support it, enabling them to independently generate relevant knowledge in the disciplines of their training.
Describe and diagnose problems, as well as detect opportunities in the agricultural and natural resources sector, to design appropriate solutions.
Join interdisciplinary work teams and national and international research centers.
Be able to communicate effectively in Spanish and English, in order to be able to present the results of their research orally (seminars, conferences) and in writing (scientific articles), to function in networks of the academic community in general, and to interact effectively with the main players in the agricultural and forestry sector
