The objective of the program is to train PhDs in the field of Mathematics with advanced theoretical and methodological competences in the research lines of the program.

Applicant Profile

Applicants for the Doctorate of Science with a major in Mathematics must have a Master's degree in Mathematics, or equivalent, granted by national or foreign universities.
Exceptionally, graduates and professionals from other areas can be considered as eligible as long as their research project is developed in areas of mathematics and applied mathematics.
Applicants for the Doctorate must participate in the interview with the Academic Committee, on the dates and times duly informed.

Graduate profile

A graduate of the Doctorate of Science program with a Mention in Mathematics at the University of Tarapacá:
- It is inserted in a cross-border context that allows a co-textual vision of the Andean macro region in an environment of cultural diversity.
- Has a training of excellence in Mathematics: Topology, Analysis, Algebra and Geometry.
- It has innovative lines of research in Mathematics, such as: Fuzzy and Interval Mathematical Analysis, Optimization, Differential Equations, Geometry of Control Systems and Mathematical Physics, among other possible ones.
- Is able to communicate through oral and written presentations his knowledge and research results to different audiences, including academic public, undergraduate and graduate students and society in general.
- Is capable of integrating / leading work groups for teaching and / or research in the discipline, working as a team in an international and / or multidisciplinary context.
- He is able to work in undergraduate and postgraduate studies and form research teams in institutions and public and private centers.
- Is able to carry out research independently or in a team in one or more of the research lines of the program.
- Is capable of generating and executing research projects.
- Is capable of doing a post-doctorate in Mathematics.
