General objective:
TRAIN INDEPENDENT RESEARCHERS OF ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE ABLE TO CONSTITUTE WORKING GROUPS ORIENTED TO THE CONSERVATION AND SUSTAINABLE USE OF RENEWABLE WATER RESOURCES, MARINE BIOTECHNOLOGY AND TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION.

Specific objective:
- To train doctors capable of independently evaluating, designing, carrying out and leading research recognized nationally and internationally as an original contribution in the areas of marine conservation, fisheries management, marine biotechnology and technological innovation.
- To train graduates with the ability to lead research or innovative projects in their line of research in areas of marine conservation, fisheries management, marine biotechnology and technological innovation, having sustainability as a reference axis.
- Develop capacities for conceptual and methodological management and intervention in phenomena associated with the areas of marine conservation, fisheries management, marine biotechnology and technological innovation both at the national level and in international contexts.
- Develop skills to organize and communicate relevant information (oral and written) of the findings of their research and content in their area of specialization, according to the context in which it is developed.
- Strengthen capacities to work in multidisciplinary teams and in national and international networks in their respective areas of specialization, through participation in scientific and applied research projects, internships, attendance at congresses, summer courses or others.

Applicant Profile

The applicant must demonstrate the ability to present and synthesize scientific ideas or topics, answering scientific questions. In addition, they must demonstrate the ability to contextualize the topic presented and substantiate their desire to continue higher studies at the doctoral level.

Graduate profile

The profile of the MaReA PhD graduate is that of a researcher with competence to independently design, carry out and lead research recognized as an original contribution to the advancement of science in the area of renewable aquatic resources. The lines of research are fisheries and marine conservation, and marine biotechnology and R&D.
