goals

General objective:
The objective of the Doctorate in Agricultural Sciences program is to train Doctors as advanced human capital in scientific research capable of creating, executing and communicating relevant and innovative research in the field of Agricultural Sciences.
Specific objectives:
-Develop in students the capacities for autonomous learning, based on the search and critical analysis of updated information, which allow them to generate knowledge at the highest level in the field of Agricultural Sciences.
-Develop in students the abilities to observe and identify problems in Agricultural Sciences that can be solved through scientific technological research and skills to plan and execute research and innovation projects.
-Contribute to the development of advanced research in Agricultural Sciences in a context of global change and with emphasis on the following areas: Ecophysiology and Plant Genetics; Water Management and Plant Nutrition; Plant Health; Viticulture and Postharvest; and Agricultural and Environmental Economics.

Applicant Profile

The Program is aimed at graduates in the area of Agricultural Sciences or related, desirable with a Master's degree, who certify academic excellence during undergraduate (reflected in the grade point average and graduation ranking) and who, in addition, demonstrate the ability to understand scientific articles in English associated with the area of Agricultural Sciences.

Graduate profile

Graduates of the program will have competences in the development of scientific and technological research in Agricultural Sciences, to generate knowledge and propose innovative solutions. Graduates will be able to:
-Present hypotheses, design and carry out experiments or observational analyzes, through the use of appropriate statistical or mathematical modeling procedures in the development of their research.
-Communicate their results clearly and effectively to their peers and the academic community, through national and international scientific meetings, and publication of their results in mainstream journals.
-Participate in multidisciplinary work teams and in national and international research centers.
