The Council of Rectors agreed to postpone the first enrollment stage to Friday, January 19, 2018, because the dates established in the 2018 Admission Process Calendar coincide with Pope Francis' visit to Chile, which has a series of practical implications.

The results of the application process to the 39 SUA universities will also be announced two days later than planned, that is, on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 11:00 p.m.

In the monthly session of the Council of Rectors, held this Thursday, August 31, the rectors agreed to postpone the enrollment stage to the universities that make up the Single Admission System (SUA) by two days, due to the fact that the dates coincide with the visit from Pope Francis to Chile, a situation that has a series of practical implications that complicate the normal development of the enrollment process.

“Considering that the Pope's visit to Santiago, Temuco and Iquique -between January 15 and 18, 2018- will summon a large number of people and, consequently, security measures will be taken, including the interruption of traffic and the collective locomotion, in the session of the Council of Rectors we have agreed to postpone the start of the enrollment stage ”, explained the executive vice president of the Council of Rectors, Aldo Valle.

In this way, the first stage of enrollment will be between Friday 19 and Sunday 21 January 2018. Meanwhile, the second stage of enrollment will maintain the dates established in the Calendar, that is, between Monday 22 and Friday 26 of January 2018.

Por otro lado, los resultados del proceso de postulación a las 39 universidades del SUA también se postergarán dos días, lo que significa que se darán a conocer el jueves 18 de enero de 2018 a las 23:00 horas.

It should be remembered that the 2018 Admission Process Calendar was defined in March 2017 and the program of Pope Francis' visit was recently known.
