Vicepresidente ejecutivo del Consejo de Rectores de las Universidades Chilenas expresa inquietud por discrepancias al interior del CRUCH

In my capacity as executive vice president of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities and in response to the latest statements regarding our internal differences, I must make a call to avoid public references of a personal nature, as this does not contribute to overcoming the serious discrepancies that currently affect us.

The accusations of responsibility to specific people, together with being able to be unfair, will make dialogue more difficult and the chances of finding the substantive agreements that we undoubtedly need. The causes of the deterioration of our internal coexistence have diverse origins and the most relevant are due to public policy processes and decisions that are not the responsibility of those who currently make up the Board of Rectors nor of it in its already long history of 62 years.

In my capacity as vice president, I believe that everyone's main effort should be directed precisely to agreeing on such causes and the conditions that allow us to give explicit and effective guarantees for the development and sustainability of all our universities.

Aldo Valle Acevedo, Rector of the University of Valparaíso and executive vice president of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities.
