The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chile and the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH), are pleased to invite you to Seminar: Internationalization of Higher Education, activity sponsored by the University of Chile and the Pontifical Catholic University.  

The Ministry of Foreign Relations and the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH) invite you to the Conference: Internationalization of Highe Education, an event sponsored by the University of Chile and the Pontifical Catholic University. 

 

With the presence of exhibitors of various nationalities, the event aims to reflect on the internationalization processes of higher education from Chile, to advance in the construction of a critical, proactive and projective vision on internationalization in our universities and other institutions.

Gathering speakers from different countries, the event aims to provide a forum for discussion and analysis of the internationalization processes of higher education from Chile, to advance towards the construction of a critical view as well as proposals and projections for the future of our universities and other institutions.

 

The Seminar will take place on Thursday, October 13 from 1:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, October 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the O'Higgins Room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, located in Teatinos 180, second floor, Santiago. 

The Conference will take place on Thursday October 12th between 13:30 and 20:00 and Friday October between 8:30 and 18:00 in the O'Higgins Room of the Ministry of Foreign Relations, located in Teatinos 18, second floor, Santiago. 

 

 

Goals / Objectives

 

The event fulfills the purpose of reflecting on the internationalization processes of higher education from Chile, to advance in the construction of a critical, propositional and projective vision on these processes in our universities and other institutions.

The event aims to provide a forum for discussion and analysis of the internationalization processes of higher education from Chile, to advance towards the construction of a critical view as well as proposals and projections for the future of our universities and other institutions. 

 

Themes / Main topics

 

Internationalization concept: It seeks to understand internationalization beyond academic mobility, encompassing all dimensions, understanding the levels of internationalization "at home" vs. "abroad" and the lines of development at each level.

Concept of Internationalization: This panel seeks to understand internationalization processes beyond academic mobility, including all dimensions of the concept, both within the institutions and from the institutions to the outside environment, on diverse levels and aspects.

 

Internationalization models: It is intended to account for different strategies and ways of promoting and advancing in internationalization, highlighting the relevance of rankings, higher education areas, shared quality and qualifications frameworks, among other aspects.

Models of Internationalization: This panel aims to address the different strategies and ways in which institutions promote and advance in internationalization, in relation to the global rankings, higher education areas, shared quality assurance and qualification frameworks and other international trends.

 

Internationalization in Latin America: This panel has the objective of giving a Latin American look at internationalization processes, with a focus on the integration of Chile in the region, to identify initiatives, obstacles, opportunities and possible scenarios.

Internationalization in Latin America: This panel attempts to provide a Latin American perspective on internationalization on higher education, focusing in the regional integration process, to identify initiatives, obstacles, opportunities and potential future scenarios.

 

Institutional internationalization practices: This table seeks to collect and recognize the relevance of university experiences or public policies to promote internationalization, their evaluation, their levels of success and their future projections.

Practices of Internationalization: This panel approaches university and public policy practices aiming to promote internationalization, to identify relevant experiences, evaluations of programs, success level assessments and future projections.
