At the meeting, the institutions of both countries participated in a round of bilateral conversations in which they found common ground and exchanged information about their schools.
A successful instance of conversation between the universities of New Zealand and Chile took place in the Extension Center of the Catholic University. The meeting, organized by the New Zealand embassy and the Council of Rectors, had the participation of 19 institutions, which had the opportunity to develop a round of bilateral talks during the day.
The day also featured presentations by Gloria Maldonado, from Innova Chile and Cecilia Collado, coordinator of International Mobility at the University of Concepción. Cecilia presented the work carried out by the universities of the Council of Rectors in various productive and research areas, highlighting the good level of the schools that belong to Cruch.
On behalf of New Zealand institutions, Alexander Gillespie, Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Waikato, and Margaret Noble, Chief Executive of the Waiariki Institute of Technology spoke.
Among the New Zealand authorities present were Charles Holmes, who is president of the Council of Education of that country and Lisa Futschek, Regional Director for Latin America, Korea and Japan in Education.
The attendees highlighted the possibility of discussing the points in common they had with foreign institutions and the possibility of establishing direct contact networks, which allow future collaboration.
