Academics from East London University discuss challenges in teacher training with the Council of Rectors

Doctors Linda Amrane-Cooper and Andrew Read were received by Cruch academics led by the rector Diego Durán of the Universidad Católica del Maule. At the meeting, they shared strategies to face the challenges of the system in initial teacher training.

The East London University authorities - Dr. Linda Amrane-Cooper and Dr. Andrew Read - visited the Council of Rectors, meeting with the Rector of the Universidad Católica del Maule, Dr. Diego Durán, with academics from the universities of Playa Ancha and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso and with the Executive Director of Cruch, María Teresa Marshall.
 

The objective of this meeting was to publicize the guidelines of the School of Education and Community of said university of Great Britain, specifically its research programs, links with schools and internationalization processes, among others. On the part of the group of the Council of Rectors, they wanted to share the current challenges of the system in the initial training of teachers and the importance of establishing links of international collaboration.
 

The similarity of challenges and opportunities led to the conclusion of the importance of maintaining close communication, which allows to address especially the development of associated research projects and the promotion of the internationalization of postgraduate studies in education at the universities of the Council of Rectors.
